Hertfordshire University’s new student accommodation campus in Hatfield is part of the University’s vision to enhance students’ lives by creating a fully inclusive living and learning campus environment.

The project costing £190m is a joint venture with Bouygues UK and Derwent living and is known as Uliving. It will be responsible for the design, build, finance and operation of new student accommodation totalling over 3,000 bedrooms, and infrastructure works at the College Lane campus in Hatfield.

The scheme is to be delivered in three phases with the first stage completed in September 2014 in readiness for the start of the new 2014/2015 academic year.

Undertaking the Mechanical aspects of this fantastic, modern development is the Kane Group Building Services who are installing the full Mechanical Service Systems alongside site wide BMS and energy monitoring.

The Kane Group selected Stourflex to supply a significant number of expansion bellows to accommodate the thermal expansion movement on this prestigious project.

Stourflex products supplied:

JP114 All stainless steel axial expansion joints which have been awarded the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) approval.

This means the product demonstrates full compliance with the requirements of the regulations and byelaws provided the fittings are installed according to any conditions given with the approval.
