The £45 million project covered two sites, one at Bristol and another at Worle in North Somerset.

The Bristol facility formed part of a redevelopment project, which included a new central bus station and an elevated slab upon which much needed key worker and student accommodation has been developed. This complex includes 11 courtrooms, a probation service suite and office accommodation. Two further facilities have been constructed at Worle – a five courtroom complex and a separate headquarters building, containing administration and training facilities for the Courts Authority and offices for the probation service.

Lorne Stewart are one of the UK’s largest building engineering services companies and required inertia bases and rubber bellows to reduce the noise and vibration from the pumps on this prestigious project. Stourflex provided 13 inertia bases and 26 EPDM Rubber Bellows from their Stourflex range.

Stourflex inertia bases are manufactured from fully welded steel frames with internal reinforcement, and are coated with corrosion resistant epoxy paint finish. The bellows supplied were fitted with fully threaded tie bars and rubber top hat washers to help protect adjacent pipework fitted to the pump when installed on inertia bases.

Stourflex provide a complete design service. This includes technical advice, site surveys and after sales support.
