Aero Engine Controls is the former name of Rolls-Royce Controls and Data Services. The company produces engine control software, electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, fuel pumps and engine actuators for a large number of common commercial and military aircraft

Following the success of the company an increase in work space was required and it was decided to build a new £60 million advanced manufacturing and technology facility in Solihull.

NG Bailey were awarded the contract for the mechanical and electrical services at AEC and selected Stourflex for our design services and products on this prestigious project.

Stourflex products supplied:

JP02 EPDM Rubber Bellows, designed to accommodate misalignment and lateral movement, were used to reduce noise and vibration from Heating and Chilled Water pumps.

JP360 Inertia Bases were used to further isolate the vibration from the pumps. Through design software, the inertia bases were sized to suit individual pumps.

JP503 Stainless Steel Air and Dir Separators were installed to improve the efficiency of the heating and chilled water systems by removal of the microbubbles of air and dirt particles. The patented design of the JP503 Separator means there are little or no pressure drops even at high flow rates..

The JP750 Dosing Pots were sized to allow correct chemical dosing into the system

Stourflex provide a complete design service. This includes technical advice, site surveys and after sales support.
