The £172m Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in the Rhymney Valley will be the first UK hospital providing single rooms for every patient, and will be one of a generation of new facilities serving the Valley regions in Gwent and the old Mid Glamorgan areas.

 


The 255 bed hospital will serve 170,000 population of the Caerphilly borough district and is designed to replace all hospitals in the area. The new hospital will include individual rooms for patients each with its own bathroom ant toilet.

Work is expected to be completed on the project by the Autumn of 2011.

Working with off site solutions specialist MDSL of Hartlebury, Stourflex provided a complete design package that not only included the supply of expansion joints, pipework anchors and guides but also a pipework flexibility analysis that included determining the amounts of thermal expansion on the pipework system and also provided drawings showing the recommended locations for Stourflex pipework expansion equipment.
